Honk If You Love Animal Rescue! Celebrating a Big Milestone with Animal Car Donation

Here at The Bond Between, our hearts are overflowing with gratitude! We have some incredible news to share that has us doing happy dances all across Minnetonka and beyond.

Our wonderful partners at Car Donation Foundation (the amazing nonprofit organization behind Animal Car Donation) have reached a mind-blowing milestone: they have officially passed $200 million in lifetime vehicle donations!

Even sweeter? Through their generosity and the kindness of folks donating their old rides, over $250,000 of those funds have been directed straight to The Bond Between’s life-saving programs. That is a lot of love, a lot of second chances, and a whole lot of happy tail wags!

Turning Unused Wheels into Real Hope

Whether it’s an old car sitting in the driveway, a truck, a motorcycle, or even a boat, the Animal Car Donation program turns unused vehicles into vital funds for our rescue missions, medical care, and community support. They take care of the entire pickup and sale process, making it completely hassle-free for donors while creating a direct, high-impact way to support furry friends in need.

Since 2009, we at The Bond Between have been blessed to rescue more than 36,000 dogs and cats. But our mission goes far beyond rescuing homeless pets—we are deeply dedicated to keeping pets and their loving families together.

As Loren Dorshow, Executive Director of Car Donation Foundation, so kindly put it:

"The Bond Between doesn't just take an animal in — it tries to keep the animal and the family together in the first place. That's a different kind of rescue work, and it's exactly the kind our donors are glad to fund."

Every single dollar from this program goes right back into protecting animals and nurturing the human-animal bond. From essential veterinary care and core rescue adoptions to our community pet food shelf, temporary respite foster housing for families in crisis, and our pet pregnancy fostering initiatives, these vehicle donations help ensure every pet gets the chance to thrive.

Gibbs, a bulldog, was rescued before he could be born into life in a puppy mill. Today, he’s living happily with his wonderful family, who adopted both Gibbs and his mom.
