The Bond Between is here to help you navigate those challenges... whether you need training resources, guidance on what to do with a stray animal, or support feeding your pet. Our mission is to support both pets and people!
Community Resources
Supporting our community isn’t just about helping pets, it’s about helping people too. At The Bond Between, our community engagement programs are focused on reinforcing the beautiful bond humans
share with animals. When we focus on solutions, more families are able to keep their pets. Our community resources are here to prevent animals from being surrendered... keeping pets with the people who love them.

Pet Food Shelf
Our Pet Food Shelf offers free pet food and supplies to community members in need, helping keep pets with the people who love them most. Together, we support the bond that makes every home complete.
Respite Foster Care
Provides short-term foster care for pets while their families navigate temporary challenges—helping keep people and pets together when it matters most.
Stray Animals
Before The Bond Between can consider taking in a stray animal, "Stray Hold" must be completed. These legal requirements are important because we want to make sure that we don't take in an owned animal by accident.
Pet Training
Programs
The Bond Between partners with local trainers to help prepare our foster animals for happy and successful lives with their forever families. Many of our training partners also offer discounts to our adoptive families!
Domestic Violence
Support
The Bond Between and the MN Pet Foster Coalition provide safe, temporary foster care for pets of domestic violence victims and survivors in Minnesota. Learn about other helpful resources that can save you and your pet.
Pet Loss Support Group
Through our extensive work with thousands of pet owners, we understand how important a support group is, as you navigate the loss of your pet. We have listed many compassionate resources to help you through the grief.
Lost animal Prevention
One in three dogs and cats become missing in their lifetime. The Bond Between Lost Animal Prevention Program is here to support animal owners as they learn how to avoid a lost animal and know what to do in the event that their pet is lost.

Surrender your Pet
Surrendering a pet can be a heart-wrenching and deeply personal decision, and we want you to know that you’re not alone. Our team is here to listen, support, and guide you through this process with compassion.

Low Cost Vet Care
The Bond Between offers monthly low-cost Pop-up Wellness Clinics in Minneapolis once a month to ensure all pets can access affordable vaccines and microchips.
