Respite Foster Care
Program
Keeping pets with the people who love them is a cornerstone of The Bond Between's mission. We created the respite foster care program to support that.
The mission of the Respite Foster program is to provide support to pet owners who would otherwise be surrendering their animals or remaining in dangerous situations, by providing temporary, quality pet care in loving foster homes.
No matter who you are, life events can happen that change your ability to support your beloved pets. Historically, even if the issue is only temporary, the only option most people have is to surrender their pets. A trip to the hospital can end up tearing a family apart.
The Bond Between's Respite Foster Care program is one of the first animal respite care programs in Minnesota. In animal rescue, we see situations every day where pet owners have to decide between caring for themselves or caring for their animals. This leads to more animals arriving at shelters and in need of rescue... even though they have people who love them. Our goal is to prevent pet owners from having to make that choice and keep the animals with their families.
