At the Bond Between we strive to give a happy ending for hundreds of dogs and cats every single day and this fall we have a heart warming story of a Senior dog, Grampie, as he takes his freedom ride to his forever foster home.

Grampie’s ride to his foster home

Grampie is our new Hospice boy who came from Minneapolis Animal Care & Control. Grampie is an approximately 10 year old male Pit Bull. He is so gentle and soft- inside and out! Grampie still has good quality of life, but he has a lot of senior dog issues which is common with our hospice cases. But that does not stop our sweet old man from loving his life! He is very social and he enjoys sniffing around, checking things out, playing with other dogs, and taking treats.

Grampie’s days were numbered at the shelter and we just couldn’t stop ourselves from saying YES to him. He deserves to enjoy the last few years of his life in a loving home. We just made that happen with the help of our Hospice Rescue Program and a loving foster home. Although The Bond Between rescue programs are adoption-based, we could not let these senior animals live out their final days in a lonely shelter. All animals deserve to feel love, even if it's in their final days. We are so happy that we were able to give Grampie a peaceful life filled with love during his last few years.

How can I support dogs like Grampie?

You can support senior dogs through our Hospice Rescue Program by being a Foster parent or by sponsoring a hospice animal. There are multiple ways you can sponsor for senior animals.

  1. Sponsor for week for $50.

  2. Sponsor for two weeks for $100.

  3. Sponsor for a month for $200.

  4. Sponsoring an in-home euthanasia for $425

  5. Or sponsor as little as you can through our donation form.

All donations, no matter the size, help these incredible senior animals live a peaceful and loving life during their final years.
