November 1st marks the beginning of a month that carries profound meaning for all of us at The Bond Between. It is the month that shapes everything we can accomplish in the year ahead, a pivotal moment that defines our ability to stand steadfast alongside every person and pet who relies on us.

For our team, this time of year brings a blend of deep hope, quiet urgency, and an unwavering commitment to be here for our community, no matter what challenges arise. We are in this for the long haul. We have built an organization that families and animals can count on through their hardest days, but keeping that promise requires a dedicated community standing firmly behind us.

What "Yes" Really Means

Every year, Give to the Max Day demonstrates just how deeply our community cares for animals and the people who love them. But what does this generosity truly mean on the ground?

Simply put, Give to the Max Day is the difference between yes and no.

It is the yes to a shivering dog sitting in a cold shelter, waiting and hoping for someone to bring him home.

It is the yes to a heartbroken pet parent holding an empty food bowl, wondering how they will feed their best friend this month.

It is the yes to a person facing a crisis or hospital stay, desperate to know their beloved companion is safe until they are reunited.

Every time we can offer that life-changing word, it is because of supporters like you.

  • The power of connection.
  • The power of connection
  • The power of connection

Give to the Max Day isn’t just about raising funds; it’s about investing in our neighbors and protecting the quiet, beautiful bonds that make families whole. It is the profound relief on a person’s face when they leave the hospital and are greeted by their dog. It is the sudden, glorious grin on a lonely senior’s face when a therapy dog leaps into her lap. It is the fragile beginning of hope in a child’s heart when he meets his new best friend.

424 Kittens, 424 Lives, 424 New Chances

Our theme this year, Together We Say Yes, is reflected in the impact we make every day. Consider what community-centered care made possible during the peak of this past kitten season.

We hosted three separate kitten surrender events at our Minneapolis location to help break the cycle of pet overpopulation before it starts. By spaying and neutering kittens before adoption, we welcomed 424 kittens into our care, preventing hundreds of future unplanned litters and creating a ripple effect that touches thousands of human and animal lives.

Winky's Story

Among those 424 kittens was Winky, who was surrendered alongside her siblings. Appearing to be missing an eye, Winky was brought in with the expectation that she would require extensive surgery.

When she arrived in August, she was too small for immediate surgery, so our veterinary team monitored her closely until her spay appointment. That’s when we received wonderful news: Winky didn't need eye surgery after all. The ophthalmologist confirmed that while a tiny, nonfunctional eye structure remained, it caused her no pain or complications.

With a clean bill of health, Winky was cleared for adoption right a

way. But she didn't have to look far. Her foster family fell in love and decided Winky was already home.

Winky’s story is just one of 424 individual journeys toward a brighter future, all made possible because our community chose to say yes.

Mark Your Calendar: Thursday, November 19, 2026

On Thursday, November 19, 2026, you have the opportunity to stand alongside us and say yes to pets and families in need.

Thanks to matching funds, every single donation made for Give to the Max Day will be doubled, giving your gift twice the power to heal, protect, and reunite.

Together, we say yes. To love, to hope, and to the bonds that change everything.
